The largest place on Ugljan island with well established tourist services is placed on north-east part of the island. It consists of Ugljan place with adjacent villages: Ceprljanda, Lucino Selo Batalaza, Susica, Gornje Selo, Muline, Guduce, Fortostina and Varos that lay in peaceful bays, of which most beautiful are: Cinta, Mostir and Muline harbour.

Ugljan has 1070 residents, most of them work in agriculture: wine, olives, fruits and fishing, and of course tourism. Regional road that spans the island runs through the place. Harbour can accept smaller yachts; larger ships can anchor southeast of the harbour. There are early antic monuments, villa Rustica, late antic mausoleum, antic christian basilic and monumental oil mill building from the 1. century (in Muline bay), and each of those are proof that this island was inhabited very early.

Old Franjevac monestary from 1430. is placed on the reef that closes the harbour. It was built in gothic style. There are some roman villa remains at Batalaza bay. Southeast of the place, on Kuran hill, are also some antic remains.

Sandy beaches are swimmers favourites, most beautiful are: Cinta, Mostir and Mulina harbour. Ugljan has several restaurants that serve local specialities.
